"In the Garden" captures a quiet moment as two sandhill cranes stroll gracefully through the grass and flower blossoms, their long legs moving with elegant ease. These majestic birds, known for their lifelong pair bonds and elaborate courtship dances, often forage together in open fields or gardens, searching for seeds, insects, and small creatures. Sandhill cranes can live over 20 years in the wild, and their presence brings a since of peace and timelessness to any scene. This piece reflects their quiet companionship and the serene beauty of nature when we pause long enough to notice.

Snow Moon
Creating this piece in February, I chose to name it “Snow Moon,” a name given by Native American tribes due to the heavy snowfall often associated with this month (at least in Montana). The name is deeply rooted in their traditions, as they used moon phases to track the changing seasons and weather patterns.

In this dreamscape spun from my imagination, the colorful and whimsical horse named “Destiny” dances through the velvet expanse of the night sky. This vision took shape with watercolor washes, white and gold pens, watercolor pencils and splashes of gold acrylic to mimic the shimmering stars.
